How Advanced Technology Helps You

Paperless Charts Mean Better Bedside Care

Medical information on computer means caregivers spend less time on paperwork and more time with you

To give you the best care, we're working on creating "paperless" patient charts throughout our hospital and even in some of the region's doctor's offices. This technology means our caregivers spend less time filling out paperwork and more time caring for you in the hospital.

In the Emergency Department

When you receive emergency care, you know speed is important. In our emergency departments, we've created “paperless” charts, called the T-system, to store your medical records on laptop computer. This allows doctors and nurses to learn vital information about your health as quickly as possible. What does that mean for you? It means you'll receive faster, more convenient care, and computerized printouts of all prescriptions and post-hospital instructions.

In the Operating Room

When you need surgery, medical professionals like anesthesiologists and nurse anesthetists play a vital role. A new, state-of-the-art system called AIMS (Anesthesia Information Management System) tracks patients' vital signs and other key measures automatically, allowing anesthesia specialists to focus solely on patients. AIMS also tracks patient progress during all procedures. We're among just 5 percent of hospital operating rooms in the nation using AIMS or other similar electronic systems to enhance patient safety.
